As a member, you’re supporting best practice in our sector, helping shape the direction of our work, and connecting with others who are passionate about building a stronger, more sustainable festival industry.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to all Australian festivals promoters, organisers and businesses working in the festival industry.
The AFA offers three types of membership:
FESTIVAL MEMBERSHIP
The AFA membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March.
Festival 1 Member
Membership $1,700 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Not for profit; or
-
Operated for less than two years; or
-
Have a capacity of less that 5,000; and
-
Are ticketed
Festival 2 Member
Membership $3,100 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Operated for two years or more; and
-
Have a capacity of between 5,000 and 10,000 patrons; and
-
Are ticketed
Festival 3 Member
Membership $6,250 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Operated for two years or more; and
-
Have a capacity of between 10,000 and 20,000 patrons; or
-
Operate at least 1 x festival brand across more than one state/territory jurisdiction with largest show capacity of below 15,000 patrons; and
-
Are ticketed
Festival 4 Member
Membership $12,100 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Operated for two years or more; and
-
Have a capacity of over 20,000; and
-
Are ticketed
Festival 5 Member
Membership $15,000 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Operated for two years or more; and
-
Operate at least 1 x festival brand across more than one state/territory jurisdiction with largest show capacity of more than 15,000 patrons; and
-
Are ticketed
Platinum Festival Member
Membership $25,000 annually ex gst
Eligibility
-
Opt-in membership open to any festival member who is committed to the work of the AFA
Additional Festival Brand Membership
$1100 annually per 2 x additional festival brand
Eligibility
-
A membership add-on for Festival members in Tiers 1-5 that operate multiple festival brands and want the AFA to represent or provide advice for those extra brands.
SPONSOR / OTHER MEMBERSHIP
Price on application and on approval by the AFA Board.
Eligibility
Membership granted to a business with significant interest in the festival industry.
Membership granted to any other membership type that does not fall within the above categories.
